European Hedgehog and Indian Crested Porcupine
Good Morning!
Today's images are both of spikey mammals
The first- a European hedgehog, Erinaceus europaeus, was taken at about 5:30 in the morning in a private garden in North Yorkshire.
Picture 2 is a sleeping/sleepy Indian Crested Porcupine, Hystrix indica. Together, they make a beautiful example of convergent evolution and a rather endearing start to the day. So, Happy Friday. Next post will be on Monday morning.

ReplyDeleteHi Victoria. Nice post. My friend has an African pygmy hedgehog as a pet. They are soooo cute.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comments, Carmen and Arctic Foxx. Yes- pygmy hedgehogs are rather popular, Arctic Foxx- I have never seen one in the flesh, but the pictures are adorable.
