V. L. Welch: 10 yrs ago, it would have been unthinkable to put out a blog in my own name, let alone with it in the title: way too immodest and self-promoting. You might argue it still is. But, after a decade, 5 other blogs on various topics, plenty of pennames, a fair few magazine articles and whole load of academic journal-paper writing, frankly, I am running out of running. So here it is- good, bad or entirely indifferent- this is me and my writing- the blog-length portions of it, at least. No more hiding. It is what it is. I hope you like it and that it is entertaining…or useful, or both. There's quite a bit here on wildlife (my doctorate is in zoology, after all), but it's also a little bit personal, rather than pursely academic. Thank you for your interest in my work.
