Quotable- The Purpose of the Internet is to Serve Humanity.

Good Morning!

Happy Monday!

With all the developments on the web in recent years, when I came across this quote from the web's inventor (British Scientist Sir Tim Berners-Lee), it seemed a very timely reminder-

“The goal of the Web is to serve humanity. We build it now so that those who come to it later will be able to create things that we cannot ourselves imagine.”-Sir Tim Berners-Lee
The role of the internet continues to evolve, but how does it's function differ from its planned purpose?

There is not much to add to that- I have nothing that you haven't already thought to add to it yourself.  Next post will be pictures on Friday.
Best Wishes for a great week,
Victoria

  1. Does the internet "know" its purpose is to serve humans? We all know the robots will take over in the end....and then the humans will serve the internet.

  2. Yup, he could probably never imagine the internet's main function becoming the sharing of cat pictures.
